Inktober 2019 MEGATHREAD

Instead of making a post every day I complete an Inktober piece, I decided to post my completed ones here all together :)

They will be coloured eventually, but for now, please enjoy my Inktober 2019 pieces.

Happy Inktober 2019, everyone!

- Nem

Day 1 - A is for Albatros

Albatros's are very well known for their impressive wing span and ability to glide fantastic distances with little to no effort.

This makes them the perfect Air Messengers.

Day 2 - B is for Budgie

I used to have a budgie called Spike. She loved to imitate the Sligs from Abe's Odyssey and sit on your hand for scritches.

She also enjoyed eating/stealing noodles and spaghetti. She was awesome 💜

Day 3 - C is for Cockatoo

Cockatoos are very intelligent and need lots of stimulation. This one enjoys writing poetry and artisan coffee.

Day 4 - D is for Ducks

Ducks love to splash around in puddles and discuss the world's happenings. These three are debating which is considered more of a delicacy: - Thick, white bread or Greggs sausage roll (Spoiler: it's neither, both are bad for ducks)

Day 5 - E is for Eagle

Eagles are a symbol of new beginnings or adventures. They are strong, powerful and fearless.

Day 6 - F is for Flamingo

Flamingos are sassy, silly and freaking fabulous! This one has taken inspiration from Miss Vanji in an attempt to make herself even more fierce and fabulous than she already is.

Day 7 - G is for Great Tit

Great Tits are a sign of good fortune. They are seen as "truth tellers" and are able to predict things. According to legend, the almighty Eagle granted the power of Fortune Telling to the Great Tit.

Day 8 - H is for Heron

Herons eat fish and are very patient and still. However, they don't really mind who's fish they eat, and so they often become a bit of an unwanted nuisance around garden ponds.

Day 9 - I is for Ibis

The Egyptian god of knowledge and learning was called Thoth. He had the head of an Ibis and apparently created himself!

Day 10 - J is for Jackdaw

The omens of death and the end. Although they are seen as a negative omen, the Jackdaw can also symbolise the end of a chapter of your life and new beginnings.

Day 11 - K is for Kestrel

They stand for wisdom, vision and protection. They are known for their speed and agility, and are a very good omen.

Day 12 - L is for Long-tailed Tit

We have a family of Long-Tailed Tits in the woods outside our house, and they LOVE the food we put out for them.

One in particular really enjoys his food and is always the first to any banquet. We call him Pudge.

Day 13 - M is for Magpie

Magpies are well known for their love of shiny objects, however, did you know that they also make art with these collections?

Day 14 - N is for Nuthatch

Nuthatch's love getting into odd positions on tree trunks.

This one has been spotted and seems quite alarmed.

Day 15 - O is for Owl

Owls are wise, angry pillows of fury. They make excellent familiars.

Day 16 - P is for Penguin

Some penguins like to collect presents for their other halves. While most of them are honest, there are always those who will thief a shiny rock from another Peng to impress their mate.

Like this one...

Day 17 - Q is for Quails

Quails are very well presented and tasty.

That is all

Day 18 - R is for Robin

Robins are often associated with Christmas, but did you know that they are actually a symbol of Spring?

It's also said that if a Robin is following you, then someone is watching over you, making sure that you are safe.

Day 19 - S is for Secretary Bird

They stand for family, pride and guidance. Also known as "the Devil's Horse" they are best left undisturbed, but they will guide you in times of need or when making a difficult decision.

Day 20 - T is for Toucan

Toucans are cheeky, inventive and sassy af!

This one is eating a cactus simple because she can.

Day 21 - U is for Umbrella Bird

Look at its majestic beard and head piece.

This one seems to be having some sort of existential crisis...hopefully it will pass.

Day 22 - V is for Vulture

This is a Bearded Vulture. They are the most metal birds in the entire world!

When they are not eating the bones of their prey, they are bathing in its blood because they want to look pretty.

Day 23 - W is for Wagtail

Willy the Wagtail is a happy little chappy.

Wagtails stand for excitement and happiness. Folklore says that if you see a Wagtail, give them a smile and they will bestow happy times and fortune upon you.

Day 24 - X is for Xantus hummingbird

Hummingbirds have a lot of symbolism connected to them, but it all boils down to that fact that they are hard-working little blighters who are able to work through the rough times to get to the sweet ones.

Day 25 - Y is for Yucatan Wren

Not much is known about the Yucatan Wren, but this one seems concerned about its cactus being eaten....

Day 26 - Z is for Zebra Finches

These birds are very social animals, often found snuggling together on cold weather.

When a pair get together they go to a designated "dating tree", or if it's too cold or dark, will make a pillow fort and watch Netflix.
